MBABANE – Seasoned golfer Valentine Maziya started the month of August on a high note. This follows his victory in the Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC) Monthly Mug, which was played at the Mbabane Golf Club two days ago. Maziya delivered a stellar performance to top a competitive field of 34 golfers, carding the overall best gross score of 75 and securing the title with a winning net score of 71.
He was closely followed by Mzamo Dlamini, who took the runner-up spot after carding a net score of 72. The contest for third position required a count-back after both Sandile Chonco and Dumisa Gama finished tied on a net score of 73, with Chonco ultimately securing third place over Gama.

In the novelty categories, Mduduzi Maphalala enjoyed a successful outing on the greens, claiming both the Longest Drive (Men) title and the Nearest for Two on holes 9/18. Meanwhile, Thabiso Gama swept the accuracy awards, winning Nearest the Pin on both holes 8/17 and 2/11.
