GOLF - The November edition of the ESRIC Monthly Mug at Mbabane Golf Club produced sparkling golf and a standout performance from Thabiso Gama, who claimed the overall title with an impressive 68 points played at Mbabane Golf Club. Gama's round was a model of consistency and his steady play under pressure ultimately saw him lift the coveted trophy. The chase for the net prizes was fiercely contested. Bafana Hlophe secured second place with a solid net 70 points while Mfanzile Dlamini followed closely behind on 71 points to finish third.
Musa Motsa produced a tidy, even-par 72 points for the fourth position, demonstrating reliability across both nines. Zwelisha Dlamini, carding a 74 points, completed the top group after winning the count-out for fifth place. The day also saw novelties, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition.
Moses Masilela claimed the Longest Drive (Men) with a powerful strike off the tee while Mxolisi Magagula showcased pinpoint accuracy to take Nearest the Pin on holes 2/11. Sibusiso Shongwe matched that precision by winning Nearest the Pin on holes 8/17, contributing to a memorable day for the club's regular competitors. Speaking after his victory, Gama expressed delight at his performance, noting that the win was a result of hard work and plenty of practice. His well-deserved triumph capped a competitive day on the course, with the field producing several noteworthy scores.
