Ngwane Park, Charles Wesley crowned ESRIC darts champs

DARTS - NGWANE Park High School and Charles Wesley High School have been crowned joint champions of the 2026 Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC) Schools Darts Championship.

More than 10 schools from across the country competed in the tournament, which concluded over the weekend at the Mavuso Exhibition Hall.

Ngwane Park and Charles Wesley finished level on 109 points, sharing the overall title.

Mhlatane High School secured second place with 79 points.

Eswatini National Darts Vice President Thandeka Mkhonto confirmed the results and congratulated the winning schools for their strong performances.

“The tournament was a successful and well-organised event that showcased emerging talent across participating schools. We are pleased with the level of competitiveness displayed. It was encouraging to see the youngsters demonstrating strong performances throughout the event,” she said. Mkhonto congratulated the winners and thanked the schools that participated.

“We had a number of schools taking part in this tournament, which clearly indicates that we are on the right track and the future of the sport is bright,” she added.

Overall, the event strengthened collaboration among schools and reinforced confidence in the continued development and growth of the sport at grassroots level in the local region.

The tournament proved highly competitive, serving as a key platform for developing young talent.

It continues to act as a feeder into the national setup, with standout players progressing to represent Eswatini in regional competitions such as the AUSC Region 5 Junior Championships. Several athletes and coaches have earned national recognition through the grassroots system.
