MBABANE - Lwazi Mchobokazi, a sportsman of diverse talents, has showcased his versatility by clinching this past week's Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC) Monthly Mug. The tournament was played at Mbabane Golf Club last Saturday, with 35 golfers bravely navigating the chilly weather conditions on the course. Prowess Mchobokazi, a former basketballer for Mbabane Jazz Club before retiring to focus on his golfing prowess, delivered an impressive net score of 67 to secure the coveted Monthly Mug.
The gross winner on the day was Ncamiso Ntshalintshali, who carded a striking 82. Cynthia Mkoko continued her fine form, emerging as this month's ladies winner with an inspiring 89. The field saw a tight finish behind Mchobokazi, with several players posting strong net scores. The nearest to pin prizes were keenly contested, awarded to Lwazi Mchobokazi on hole 8/17; Maqhawe Motsa on 9/18; and Bongani Shabangu on 2/11. Congratulations Mbabane Golf Club Captain Gide-on Mhlongo later shared details on upcoming events and extended his congratulations to all participants. "We extend our congratulations to all the winners and podium finishers for their excellent play," Mhlongo stated. He also announced that the club will host its Business League Today, followed by the LoL on Friday, July 11.
