DARTS - Malkerns Darts Club (MDC) reclaimed their title as the best in the Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC) E150,000 Darts League as they were officially crowned as the champions.
The team reclaimed their title after they were dethroned by Green Arrows, formerly Correctional Darts team, who won the title last year. This was after MDC had enjoyed three years of uninterrupted title wins, but this year they jumped back to top spot while last year's champions slipped to third. Runners-up were another former Correctional Services team known as Green Spears who took home E10,000 and silver medals for their efforts.
The champions received E15,000, a trophy, and gold medals as third place got E8,000 in cash prizes and bronze medals. Meanwhile, individual awards were also handed out on the day with Royal Snipers' Bafana Nkambule winning the Player of the Season, while Banele Mndzebele won the President's Award. Banele managed to finish with a silver medal during the individual category of the Region V Games last year and will also be part of the Region V team which will compete later this year. Elangeni High School was also recognized by the president for providing the association with a playing venue for the previous season.
