MBABANE – The greens at the Mbabane Golf Club came alive this past Saturday as a strong field of over 50 golfers gathered to compete in the latest edition of the ESRIC Monthly Mug.
Lwazi Mchobokazi emerged as the day's top performer, clinching the overall title with an impressive net score of 62.
Following closely behind, Vusi Ngcamphalala secured second place with a net score of 64 on a countback, narrowly edging out Trevor Mthethwa, who also finished with a net 64.
The podium was completed by Sam Richards, who recorded a score of 68, and Banele Ngcamphalala, who finished with 71.
In the gross competition, Siboniso Simelane delivered a standout performance, posting a gross score of 75 to take home the top trophy.
The day also featured exciting novelty challenges that tested the precision of the participants. Bongani Shabangu demonstrated great accuracy to win the Nearest the Pin on the 2/11 hole, while Holisizwe Dlamini claimed the Nearest the Pin on the 8/17 hole.
Additionally, Cosmo Mthethwa proved his skill by winning the Nearest for 2 on the 9/18 hole, and Khethani Dlamini powered his way to the Longest Drive (Men) award.
