AS long as you take insurance as part of your financial planning, you are on the right track. This was the message shared by Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC) General Manager Zama Ngcobo, when addressing the company’s loyal clients, who were celebrated and rewarded with an E2 500 grocery voucher. Ngcobo said investing as little as E100 over a period of time can make it possible to take a child through university or even build a home.
He explained that he was highlighting this within the context of the products offered by ESRIC, which provide full, comprehensive financial planning. These include educational plans designed to ensure that when a child reaches university level, the necessary financial provision is already in place. As ESRIC, he said, they were committed to helping children realise the dreams that their parents who are their clients, may not have achieved.
“Through these financial plans we have, clients can make the dreams of their children a reality. Many parents imagine their children studying outside the country or achieving things they themselves never had the chance to,” Ngcobo said. He added that around this time every year, ESRIC launches a campaign to acknowledge and recognise clients who have remained loyal in paying their premiums for the company’s products. Ngcobo emphasised that all their clients are valued equally, whether new or long-standing, and whether they pay as little as E38 or as much as E5 000 per month.
“All of them are important clients,” he noted.
The general manager said he was touched by the clients’ testimonials on the service offered by the company, as many expressed great satisfaction and appreciation for the value they received. “This company is what it is because of you, our clients. Without you, there is no ESRIC,” he said.
Celebrate
He further explained that the clients being celebrated were also selected based on their use of ESRIC’s newly launched App, introduced in August last year.
He said the App was developed in response to the needs of a new generation, which prefers digital convenience over paper-based communication. The App enables clients to access their policies wherever they are.
However, he stressed that this does not discourage clients from visiting ESRIC offices.n“You are still welcome to come in, especially since many of you have other errands to run in town,” he said. Ngcobo said they were encouraged by the App’s uptake, especially after initial uncertainty when it was launched. So far, 14,800 people have downloaded it and are actively using its features, including checking their policies and viewing their premium requirements.
This, he said, gives clients more control over their products. He added that one of the intentions behind launching the App was to simplify processes and reduce day-to-day enquiries on policy status. They also wanted to make premium payment easier. Ngcobo highlighted that a large number of clients now pay their premiums through the App, and overall, ESRIC is approaching 200,000 users, a sign that clients are embracing the technology.
The client celebration campaign is still ongoing and is expected to run until December 31, 2025. The clients who received vouchers were part of the second batch. For December, 10 lucky clients stand a chance to win school fees vouchers worth E5,000 each. The school fees will be paid directly to the winners’ chosen schools. Alternatively, clients may choose to use their winnings to pay their insurance premiums in advance.
