MBABANE – No more January worries for 10 ESRIC clients as they each won school fees worth E5,000!
While January often brings the burden of school fees, 10 lucky winners had this weight lifted off their shoulders by the Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC). This initiative was part of the ESRIC celebration running since October, where the winners are pioneers awarded for embracing and adopting the ESRIC App.
These lucky winners are Ayanda Dlamini, Makhosazane Dlamini, Bahle Dlamini, Mayibongwe Dvuba, Phinda Malaza, Vusiwe Ntshangase, Mpendulo Shongwe, Nontobeko Nhleko, Mfanasibili Mamba and Derrick Maseko. This event took place at Insika House, ESRIC's head office in Mbabane on Friday. Out of 11,000 participants, these 10 winners each received an E5,000 voucher for school fees. The funds will be paid directly into the schools' accounts, rather than as cash to the winners.
Vusiwe Ntshangase, one of the winners, expressed her gratitude, stating that the school fees voucher comes in handy for her. "With three children to pay school fees for, I can certainly say this will be a huge relief. Considering one is in Form V, I will be able to divert the money I had saved towards exam fees and other school necessities," she said. Mamba, who has two children attending St Francis High School, mentioned that he will use the voucher to top up the deposit and get closer to paying off the school fees.
Thoughtful
"Thank you so much, ESRIC, for such a thoughtful gesture," he remarked. Ayanda also shared her appreciation for ESRIC's support. Dlamini has two graduate plans and noted that this assistance has helped her secure a loan for school fees. "The money is easily processed and the interest charges are ridiculously low compared to the 30% interest we encounter elsewhere. But luckily this year, I don't have to worry about a school fees loan since I won the E5,000 voucher," she said. The winners hold various types of insurance policies, including Wonkhe Funeral, Private Insurance Endowment Assurance, with a five-year Cash Benefit, Lilunga Pure Endowment, and Homeowner insurance. Zama Ngcobo, ESRIC General Manager (GM), expressed his appreciation for clients sharing their testimonies. "From what I'm hearing, we made the right choice in creating these products," he said. He proudly highlighted their funeral cover, stating, "Times have changed. Unlike in the past, when you could rely on friends and relatives to help with funeral costs, now you are often on your own. It is during such times that funeral cover proves invaluable. E5,000 may not cover all school fees, but it can go a long way. We opted for school fees support to encourage parents to invest in their children's education.
Education
"While education does not guarantee a job, it significantly enhances one's chances," he added. This campaign is just the beginning; ESRIC plans to continue with more initiatives throughout the year. Ngcobo emphasized their commitment to paying all claims, stating, "We strive to find a reason to pay every claim."He also thanked clients for their ongoing support and hinted at developing products that address environmental changes, particularly concerning drought issues.
